SASSA has confirmed the payment schedule for October 2026. As always, payments are staggered across the first week of the month — Older Persons first, then Disability, then Children’s grants — to reduce congestion at ATMs, retailers and pay points. The SRD R370 grant follows its own separate batch cycle in the last week of the month.

SRD R370: when will you be paid in October?
The SRD grant does not follow the first-week schedule. SASSA processes SRD payments in batches during the last week of October 2026, roughly 26–30 October. Your exact date depends on when your application was approved and verified for the month — there is no fixed SRD payday.

What to remember
- You don’t have to withdraw on payday. Your money stays in your account — SASSA encourages beneficiaries to collect when convenient rather than rushing on day one.
- No payment on weekends or public holidays. If a date falls on one, SASSA moves it to the next working day.
- Grant reviews: SASSA is running a large verification drive this financial year (over 350,000 grants under review). If your grant is flagged for review, use the 4th payment day window or visit your nearest SASSA office.
- Gold cards: SASSA Gold Cards stopped working after 31 August 2026. If you haven’t switched to the Postbank Black Card yet, visit a SASSA office or Postbank branch — your grant cannot be collected on an expired Gold Card.
- Scam warning: SASSA never asks for payment, your PIN, or OTP to release a grant. Report fraud to 0800 60 10 11.

Do I need to reapply every month for SRD?
No. Once approved, SASSA reassesses your eligibility each month automatically. You only reapply if your application was declined or cancelled.

Wait 2–3 working days after your scheduled date, then call the SASSA toll-free line on 0800 60 10 11 or visit your nearest SASSA office. Also confirm your banking details are correct — wrong details are the most common cause.
Will grants increase again in October 2026?
